SECURITY CHECK-IT: STEP 5
Device Encryption, protect your data & devices
Since 25 May 2018, the EU imposed the general data protection regulation (GDPR). Data encryption has become a real concern for many businesses. Let’s say your mobile phone or laptops get lost or stolen. Most of the time, personal information of you, your employees, and customers are stored on these devices. With GDPR rules in mind, this could result in a substantial penalty from the government. How do you make sure all devices where data is stored are solidly encrypted and how do you keep track of all devices?
Microsoft Endpoint Manager
This is where we come in! At Tyneso, we implement Microsoft endpoint management solutions. This way we’re allowed to enforce encryption on all devices used to exchange data with your company. These solutions aren’t limited to Windows 10 or Mac OS X devices, but can also be implemented on mobile devices such as iOS and Android devices. Other than that, we can enforce encryption on mobile storage such as removable hard drives and USB sticks. In case a device goes missing we can reassure the data protection officer by providing the proof of encryption and in the case of a mobile device remotely wipe the device.
Imagine, your mobile phone or laptops get lost or stolen. What if you can not access the device anymore, is your data completely lost? This is a risk that can be limited by securely extracting the encryption keys and storing them in an encrypted vault. We will be able to recover the keys and unlock broken down endpoints from the cloud so no valuable time or productivity is lost.
Data encryption may seem like a complicated process, but it is not something your business needs to solve on its own. We can help you prevent complete data loss and avoid violations against GDPR.
